How do we retrofit?
Taking a fabric-first approach means prioritising the reduction of heat loss in a home through measures such as insulation, energy-efficient windows and doors, proper ventilation, heat pumps, and solar panels.
This method helps create sustainable, low-carbon homes that are cheaper to heat. With energy costs rising and the need to cut carbon emissions to meet the UK’s 2050 net-zero target, retrofitting is the most effective solution.
To ensure success, retrofit projects should follow a tailored plan and be delivered by qualified, experienced tradespeople who maintain high levels of technical skill, customer care, and good business practices.

Retrofit Assessment
The retrofit process starts with a comprehensive property assessment to evaluate current energy efficiency, existing ventilation, and any problems such as damp, mold, or condensation. During this assessment, we will take measurements, gather data, and capture images to create a detailed condition report.
Full access to all areas of your home, including the loft and all exterior elevations, will be required. Osmosis ACD will arrange this visit, and a qualified assessor will perform both internal and external surveys.
The findings will guide our recommendations for the most effective energy-saving measures. Once approved, the necessary improvements will be carried out by our approved contractors, and our customer liaison officers will keep you informed every step of the way.
